Welcome to CAHS Medical Library

Library staff are committed to provide as many services as possible, with minimal disruptions to users. There may be situations where services may close due to staff shortage.  Thank you.

Our role

CAHS medical library services provides quality, evidence-based resources to support research development and patient centred care for all staff employed in the Child and Adolescent Health Service - PCH, CAMHS, Community, Neonatology

Please register to access full library services, including loaning of print resources.  Please Email us for all queries or assistance.   You may also find us via the Child and Adolescent Health Service website for health professionals

Please note:  All resources are proxied to CAHS staff only via the library website.  External links (i.e. via Google) will not give you subscribed access.

Computer workstations

All computers available 24/7 for hospital staff and students on placement.

  • Use one of our 11 desktop computers (5 of which run via hospital wifi).  No bookings required.  Log in with your HE number (please log out after use) Please do not swap dongles/receivers
  • Bring your own device and connect to WA Health Wi-Fi.
  • USB outputs available within the library.
  • Please bring your headsets to listen to audio.  Library does not supply headsets.
  • Please bring your own charging cables for your device.  Library does not supply chargers.

Lost Property

Kindly hand in all lost property items to the security desk on the ground floor. For any queries regarding lost property or access card Enquiries call 6456 3001. View the Lost and Found Personal Property Policy here

CAHS Medical Library Information

24/7 swipe card access for all staff (after swipe card activation by HSS).  This only provides access to the library space and computers for study/work purposes, not to the print collection.
24/7 book loan kiosk for registered library borrowers (Please contact library staff during library opening hours for any issues)
Library staff are on site Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Please use Microsoft Edge to access all library resources within WA Health.
For offsite access, please use your usual login details (he number/password) that you use when at work or home/offsite.
Please contact HSS Help Desk (IT assistance) if experiencing any access issues with logins 13 44 77 (7:30am - 5:00pm) or log an IT request.

Clear browser cache

Sometimes, when a website isn't loading properly or not at all, it could be due to a caching or cookies issue where the stored data may have become corrupted and needs to be cleared from your device.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Del (Windows) or Command+Shift+Delete (Mac) on the keyboard when on browser screen
  2. Then select Time range: All time from the drop-down menu
  3. Then select (tick) everything in the list except for Passwords and Autofill
  4. Press Clear now button
  5. Try and access the webpage again from a new window or tab

Ctrl+Shift+Del (Windows) or Command+Shift+Delete (Mac) works for every browser type. The options will differ slightly, but the conventions are the same. View the following link for step by step instructions for every browser type.
